How to Start Selling Notion Templates as a Complete Beginner
Step-by-step process to become a Notion creator š°
Do you wanna be a Notion creator and make money out of it? But still donāt know the basics of this field. I got you; in this blog, I'm going to share a step-by-step guide to starting as a Notion creator.Ā
Without any delay, let's start the blog.Ā
1. LearnĀ NotionĀ
Your first step should always be to learn the Notion. Remember, your skill is the most valuable thing here. People are going to pay for your skill and time. So donāt just start making templates coming out of nowhere.Ā
Go to YouTube and search for how to build a Notion template.Ā
Hereās 5 top YouTube channels to learn Notion.Ā
2. Build theĀ audienceĀ
Now, you have to choose a platform to promote your Notion template. Twitter has the biggest community of notion creators. But if you are going to build an aesthetic template, I suggest you go for an Instagram or Pinterest account.Ā
After choosing a platform, start building in public. Building in public is best in the case of digital products. You share everything with your audience.Ā
Also, how to grow on Twitter. You can check the below article.Ā

3. Choose your marketplaceĀ
Gumroad and Etsy are two famous marketplaces for selling Notion templates. Gumroad has more male audiences, and Etsy has more female.Ā
Both platforms come with their own perks.Ā
Gumroad is good if you are good at promoting things on another platform. In comparison, Etsy works on SEO and Paid Ads.Ā
My experience with both platforms.Ā
Gumroad: I just love Gurmoad, mean I just love everything about it. However, the fees of Gumroad are very high. You have to actively promote your product to sustain on Gumroad. There is very little organic traffic.Ā
Here is the video for how to list your product on Gumroad. It's super easy.Ā
Etsy: Although I've heard many bad things about Etsy before starting. But none of them was true. You can get sales on Etsy with good mockups, the right tags, and keywords.Ā
Also, I've noticed Etsy customers arenāt really familiar with Notion, so you have to explain everything in your mockups. Although if I talk about Etsy, this blog is going to be very long, so I'll talk about it some other day.Ā
4. Launch yourĀ templateĀ
I suggest you build 2 templates: one is free, and one is paid. Launch your freebie, and after that, upsell your paid product. This way, you make money from the start of your journey.Ā
I know many people give donations for free products as well. But it may take time. I was lucky enough to get a sale on my first day. But I've seen it take 1 to 2 weeks for many creators.Ā
So, to boost your confidence, try this way.Ā
5. Submit your template to NotionĀ Gallery
Notion Gallery is OG to get sales. I mean, if you have a highly valued product, you can make huge money only from the Notion gallery. So consider submitting your product to Notion Gallery
6. Make it sustainableĀ
If you really want to get into this business, you have to go all in. You have to promote your product continually.Ā
You can promote your product on different platforms.Ā
Iāll end my blog today now. But more valuable blogs are coming soon.Ā
